KDF: 30 Years of Care《守护肾命的光》

Kidney Dialysis Foundation.August 30, 2026

On 30 August, five Kidney Dialysis Foundation dialysis patients’ real-life stories took centre stage at The Theatre at Mediacorp, with artistes bringing their experiences to life through music, dance, storytelling and live enactment in KDF’s first-ever musical storyscape.

Stories of Resilience: Living with Kidney Disease

Set in a familiar neighbourhood, KDF: 30 Years of Care《守护肾命的光》followed Cheng Guang, a delivery rider played by Zhu Zeliang, as he moved through the community and encountered five individuals whose lives had been changed by chronic kidney disease.

Through these stories, the musical storyscape brought the realisties of living with kidney disease closer to the audience and opened up conversations around kidney health — showing how prevention and early detection matter.

Turning Stories Into Kidney Health Awareness

The musical storyscape comes as the Foundation marks 30 years of service and seeks to amplify the message on kidney health and the importance of caring for our kidneys before disease takes hold.

For individuals, that can mean learning about chronic kidney disease, paying attention to personal risk factors and speaking to a healthcare professional about appropriate screening. For families and communities, it can mean listening without judgement, supporting caregivers and helping people on dialysis stay connected to the lives they want to lead.

KDF extends its heartfelt appreciation to the Guest of Honour Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health and Coordinating Minister for Social Policies for gracing the event. We are also grateful to the patients and families who shared their stories, the Mediacorp team who brought them to life, and all of the Foundation’s supporters whose contributions made the musical storyscape possible. Together, your support enables us to keep kidney health in the public consciousness and encourage more individuals to pay closer attention to their own kidney health.
